This is a a repeat of a July 2013 show about Homecomers.
If you have never heard the terminology, “homecomer” used with respect to returning ex-offenders, it would be wise to listen to this show!
Listen as CURTIS WATKINS, Founder and Director of the Phelps Stokes’ National Homecomers Academy, helps us re-think old questions, confront our preconceptions, and consider new answers for viable ways to embrace those returning to society after incarceration.
The National Homecomers Academy supports formerly incarcerated persons in creating healthy families, generating strong peer-led support groups, mobilizing neighborhoods, revitalizing communities, and increasing community capacity. We will also be joined by a "homecomer," William T. Lawson, who is a committed community leader with a passion for motivational speaking that is convincing, inspiring, and forthcoming.
