Yes, Otha Thornton, President, National PTA, speaks out tonight about the importance of engaging males in key education issues that create an environment where students are motivated to achieve! 100 Black Men of America members have created an alliance (PTA MORE) dedicated to raising the level of engagement between students and the important men in their lives.
Otha Thornton is the first African American male to preside as president of the National PTA. His education, professional experience, and family commitment enhance his leadership. Thornton received his bachelor’s degree in urban studies from Morehouse College and a master’s degree in communications from Michigan Technological University. He is a senior operations analyst with General Dynamics in Fort Stewart, Georgia.
