Phoebe, was honored the awards event at the Taglyan Complex on October 22nd was a black-tie gala honoring all the winners of Volume 36 and Volume 37 as well as announcing the grand prize writer and illustrator winner from each volume.

Phoebe Rothfeld is an illustrator and designer who grew up in the beautiful, tree-filled town of Chico, California and spent her childhood making up elaborate games with her siblings.

Very early she found joy in drawing from life as a way to illustrate stories with a sense of seriousness, a devotion to detail and all things miniature, as well as an intense love for fantasy narratives. To this day she always has a sketchbook on her person.

Phoebe attended the University of California, Santa Cruz and received her BA in Art and Theater Arts. While she works across a wide range of mediums that include ink, watercolor, gouache, and digital, her projects all come from the same goal—to inspire imagination and empathy through visual stories. She has completed her studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design earning her an MFA and is working toward a career in publishing.

Phoebe’s ultimate goals involve writing and illustrating her own stories that are slightly dark, slightly fantastical, and entirely hopeful.

Phoebe Rothfeld, won and was awarded at the L. Ron Hubbard Achievement Awards Event in Hollywood as a winner in the Illustrators of the Future Contest and her art is published in the international bestselling anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 36.
