Being an abuse Survivor sets a person apart from society in terrible ways. I have met many Survivors as an advocate. I am one myself.

I have seen a number of reasons why individuals should stay humble and NOT wear their burden as a crown. I have seen women placed on a pedestal by those who trumpet that "hers is the WORST case of abuse I've ever seen!" who suddenly think they're the poster child for all victims. As survivors we are not meant to be a freak show for the amusement of triflers. So how do we discourage "Queen for a Day" treatment by the unaffected?

Tonight I will discuss strength in numbers and the setbacks we suffer when "you can't see the forest for the trees." Please call in.
