Almost Human star Lili Taylor stars in The Cold Lands as a mother living a Bohemian lifestyle in the middle of the woods with her son when her sudden death leaves him to fend for himself. A mother herself, Lili commuted to the set from her house across the river. She tells host Robin Milling that while she loves nature she is not an 'off the gridder,' and encourages the importance to her daughter of existing with others. Fancying herself more of a boyscout than a hippie, she says she could survive the wilderness if put to the test. 'I like to know how to tie a knot and how to build a fire and how to survive because you just never know!' I want to know how to handle a bear if I see one and I want to know how to save someone's life if they're in trouble.' Living for two weeks in the woods with Earth First destroying their equipment so they wouldn't destroy redwood trees gave Lili a taste of what it's like.

Lili likes it old school. Playing a futuristic police captain in Almost Human, she prefers paper and pen to the fancy holograms they use on the show. She confesses she'd like to have more wild weapons like her cop co-stars Karl Urban and Michael Ealy use, and get out of the office more!

Coming up, Lili will grace the stage with Chloe Grace Moretz in The Library directed by Steven Soderbergh.
