Listen to WORDS MAKE PEOPLE with your host Michael "Mikal" Saahir and co-host Mustaffaa Abdullah in discussion on the topic: "American Muslims and the U.S. Constitution" on Sunday August 07, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. EST on Station IWDM. The 2016 Presidential campaign has been littered with anti-Islamic rhetoric from numerous candidates from one particular party which resulted in stark lines drawn as other Americans fought against such bigotry; however, it was during the recent Democratic National Convention that this fray hit a crescendo when Mr. Khizr Khan, standing next to his wife Ghazala publically challenged Mr. Donald Trump by stating, “Donald Trump, you are asking Americans to trust you with our future. Let me ask you: Have you even read the U.S. Constitution? I will gladly lend you my copy. In this document, look for the words ‘liberty" and "equal protection of law.’ Have you ever been to Arlington Cemetery? Go look at the graves of the brave patriots who died defending America -- you will see all faiths, genders, and ethnicities.”

WORDS MAKE PEOPLE will discuss some of the many connections that Al-Islam has with the U.S. Constitution historically and contemporary.
