DR. THOMAS L. BROWN (Indianapolis, IN), a graduate of The School of Urban Affairs at Northwestern University, with a Doctorate of Philosophy-Post Grad Studies in Urban Affairs and Economics. Dr. Brown’s life work and ministry are deeply rooted in the Civil Rights Movement and social change. He has worked with the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), where he participated in Freedom Rides and sit-ins in the southern United States. He has led voter education drives in the South, where he was arrested many times for his works. He aided in organizing the Black Panther Party in Lowndes County, Alabama. As a youth, he personally escorted Malcolm X to a meeting in Alabama.

DR. AL-HAJI AMIRI YASIN AL-HADID (Nashville, TN) is the retired chair of the African Studies Department at Tennessee State University. He is active in the National Council for Black Studies, the Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations, and the Association of Social and Behavioral Scientists. He is the co-author (along with Dr.Lewis v. Baldwin), of the book Between Cross & Crescent a book that deeply discusses the lives of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and El-Hajj Malik E;-Shabazz (Malcolm X).

Malcolm and Martin were much closer than history has told us.
