Most of us believe that happiness is something that can be found. We believe we have experienced some happiness, but not true or lasting happiness. Many of us can hardly describe what true happiness is, because it is so subjective. And along with all the other "shoulds", we’ve been told we should be happy.

Real happiness is associated with balance, which leads to satisfaction and fulfillment. And it may not be as elusive as we think. Happiness is a close neighbor and near friend of our individual biology and psychology.

Recently, I overheard a third-grader say, “You mean happiness has been living inside me all along? Why didn’t anyone tell me?” Good Question!

Beloved by many, Pepper Lewis has been called a visionary and a ‘wise woman of the earth’. She is the author of five books, dozens of audio programs, and a rich legacy of work in the field of human potential. In 1999, Pepper founded, The Peaceful Planet, an organization dedicated to compassionate communication between all sentient beings.
