Child - Marital - Individual Therapy. Areas of specialty include ADHD issues, child & family therapy for oppositional, angry, and defiant children and adolescents, school problems, early childhood therapy, and parental alienation syndrome. Dr. Childress provides marital therapy to develop productive dialogue, resolve angry communication patterns, and restore warmth and affection to the marriage and family.

Dr. Childress also provides individual therapy from a humanistic/existential framework to treat depression, anxiety, anger control, and personal growth issues. Visit his website at www.drcachildress.org to learn more about his practice or his blog at: http://drcraigchildress.blogspot.com/

The goal of child therapy is more than merely achieving an obedient child, the goal is to achieve a cooperative child; a child who actively joins in our mutual goals for the child's healthy development. The desired result is a child who is happy, respects authority, and who has positive life goals.

Dr. Childress' approach to child therapy is to work closely with parents to include them as co-therapists in resolving their child's difficulties. Parents learn a set of communication and relationship-based techniques and approaches that they can use for responding therapeutically to their child's emotional and behavioral problems.
