Northrup Grumman, United Technologies, Boeing and Raytheon have been sanctioned by China since July, 2022 in sales of private commercial jets to Chinese customers and also to Taiwan.  This has happened long before the Chinese spy balloons were of significance.  China does not want the US private military companies making any contracts with Taiwan.  Boeing has 290 airplanes on hold that they were planning to sell to Chinese businesses and now cannot deliver them.  There has been ongoing surveillance by the US of the 7 military installations China has built within the sea that violate international law.  The countries bordering the South China sea are Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia the Phillipines and South China.  They were not asked permission by China to build these installations.    There are 28 billion  barrels of oil reserves in the South China sea, 266 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and home of significant marine biodiversity.  3.37 trillion of global trade pases through the China sea through the Strait of Malacca. How far away is World War III?
