Welcome to another episode of Take the Black, Winter is Coming’s Game of Thrones podcast. This week, our panel discusses everything from that intense Game of Thrones episode 706, "Beyond the Wall."

While our panel largely agrees "Beyond the Wall" was a sloppy episode filled with convenient filler and plot holes galore, strangely enough, we all enjoyed it. Our topics include:

  • Cory Thone didn't enjoy the one on one conversations between Jon and Jorah, and Jon and Beric because he felt it was too forced.
  • We all loved the Hound and Tormund's interaction because, well, Tormund.
  • The sister drama is a bore, it's forced, and we're all over it: Arya's a nutjob and Sansa is a spoiled rotten princess who can't have her way.
  • We all agree that Dany is not turning into the Mad Queen. Her discussion with Tyrion was a highlight. Also, Tyrion hurt her feelings with the whole not having kids thing. Dick.
  • How did that one wight -- let's call him Larry -- survive when the others fell to pieces once that White Walker was killed?
  • Larry is a loudmouth asshole. He knows it, the Night King knows it. And, so too, does Jon's group
  • We talk that insane battle on the frozen lake and all its implications for the story moving forward including nuggets like Gendry's super fast run back to Eastwatch-by-the-sea, Ravens who use wormhole technology to travel, the Night King's ice missiles, Viserion's death and resurrection, and where the f*ck did those chains come from?

As usual, Take the Black leans heavily on the NSFW side (beware of F-bombs). You’ve been warned.
