The CHAUNCEY Show-Meet Marvin R. Jeffcoat (R) Council Candidate for Queens 26 District. Marvin and his wife Maria, who was born in the Philippines, moved to Woodside after retiring from the Army where they raised their two sons Tony 21 and Manny 14, both who attended local schools. Marvin is currently employed by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as a Facility Manager where he provides safe efficient building operations ensuring energy savings and sustainability to preserve NYC’s environment. After retirement from active military service in 2004, Marvin immediately began serving the community as the Youth Chairman for John V. Daniels Jr. VFW Post No. 2813. Under Marvin’s leadership, forty-eight local students have received $3,200 in scholarships. Marvin is a proud union member of the Organization of Staff Analysts. He is a life member of  several organizations which include the 82nd Airborne Division Association, the Combat Infantrymen’s Association, the National Rifle Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the Catholic War Veterans, Knights of Columbus, President of the Sunnyside GOP Club, and served on Queens Community Board 2. Marvin holds these positions to ensure veterans receive well deserved compensation for injury and illness sustained on active duty. Merited compensation that is spent here locally to bolster our economy and enrich our neighborhoods. Marvin believes in empowering our youth to create their own success through education and skill development. He has mentored thousands as a Cub Master and Veterans Youth Chairman.
