During the early morning hours of June 26, 1983, a father’s worst nightmare came true. The father of 16-year-old Erik Stirling Cross walked outside of his Vicksburg, Michigan, home to grab the morning newspaper and discovered his son dead on the side of the road.
It’s been 30 years since that dreadful morning, and the murder of the 16-year-old Vicksburg High School student remains unsolved.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office says Erik may have been involved in an altercation with a group of core individuals before leaving the party. However, the medical examiner stated in his report that Erik’s body was so badly injured that they were unable to determine if any of his injuries were sustained before he was fatally struck.
