June Is PTSD Awareness Month

Tonight's Guest Is;

Dr. Ahmadi, I have worked on non-communicable disease projects of the World Health Organization, practicing medicine at the Isfahan University Hospital, along with my post-graduate training at the University of Southern California (MS in clinical and biomedical investigations 2010) and University of California Los Angeles, postdoctoral fellowships in preventive cardiology and cardiovascular imaging at Harbor-UCLA, Cedars Sinai, and Greater Los Angeles VA, assistant professor of medicine at UCLA and doing a residency in adult psychiatry at Chicago Medical School, and child & adolescent psychiatry fellowship at UCLA.

It provided me with a unique set of skills and knowledge that will allow me to pursue my academic career as a clinician-neuroscientist in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry, neuromodulation intervention, and positive psychiatrist and daily practice integrated psychosomatic medicine to passionately server our patients, community, and enhancing mental wellbeing.

As many as 80% of children are exposed to a potentially traumatic experience in childhood.  PTSD is a significant public health crisis in the U.S.

With a 16-25% prevalence of PTSD in youth and is associated with increased psychiatry emergency room visits, suicidality,  adult mental health disorder, and major adverse events. Early identification of adversities and symptoms of  (PTSD) and grief may be an avenue to effective early treatment that can mitigate the negative impact of such problems. Trauma-informed screening is associated with early diagnosis and risk stratification of youth at risk for PTSD in busy communities.
