Soprano Margaret Genovese, a native of Washington D.C. made her first professional operatic debut as Papagena in the MAGIC FLUTE with the Baltimore Opera Company.  She performed at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. as a soloist and toured Sydney, Australia as Christine in an adaptation of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA by Grigal/Anderson.  Other credits include Micaela in CARMEN with the Pacific Repertory Opera, Musetta in LA BOHEME, and Donna Elvira in DON GIOVANNI at the Bear Valley Music Festival.  She has also performed Violetta in LA TRAVIATA, Mimi in LA BOHEME and Donna Anna in DON GIOVANNI with North Bay Opera, and is a former member of the San Francisco Opera chorus.  Ms. Genovese was a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Pacific Regional Competition and first place winner of the National Symphony Orchestra’s Young Soloist Competition.  A graduate from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, she was a two-time recipient of the Liberace Foundation full tuition Scholarship and holds both a Bachelor of Music degree and an Artist Diploma in vocal performance.  Recently she performed as a lead with the San Francisco Opera Guild’s Opera ala Carte program that brings opera to Bay Area schools.
