AUTHORS NETWORK RADIO SPECIAL SERIES FOR THE TX AUTHORS CONFERENCE 2016 WITH GUEST DEBRA WINEGARTEN:
Debra Winegarten, a third-generation Texan, is the author of six award-winning books. Her latest work, "Oveta Culp Hobby: Colonel, Cabinet Member, Philanthropist," from UT Press, won the 2015 Military Writers Society of America gold medal and was also chosen as a finalist in the Women Writing the West WILLA literary award. Her poetry chapbook, "There's Jews in Texas?" won the 2011 Poetica Magazine Publishing contest. She is also the CEO of Sociosights Press, whose mission is "to transform society, one story at a time." When not writing, she works part time teaching sociology at a local Austin college and also works for the UT Astronomy Department. Her latest project is a book she is co-authoring with Zvi Yaniv, an inventor with over 300 patents, called, "My Life on The Mysterious Island of Nanotechnology: An Adventure through Time and Very Tiny Spaces," expected out in the summer of 2016.
