Robert Pitre is the President of Skyline Ranch/Pitre V Auto/Life Guide for America, which is the first Black-owned auto dealership in Dallas. Pitre V Auto has been in business for over 42 years, selling new and used cars to the public from its location at 2642 S. Harwood. In 1993, Robert Pitre purchased a 90-acre ranch in southern Dallas, using it for horseback riding and teaching boys how to ride horses to keep them out of trouble. The ranch is open to the public and hosts events such as relay races and horseback riding. Robert and his wife Penney also donate toys and clothes to families every Christmas. Skyline Ranch now includes an event hall, a pool, and horseback riding. Located near the University of North Texas at Dallas and the Dallas Area Rapid Transit light rail blue line, the ranch is a popular venue for weddings, quinceaneras, reunions, concerts, and corporate events. They offer various packages and a rental-only option and provide discounts for full-package rentals on Fridays and Sundays, as well as off-season rates. Additionally, 10% of their earnings go toward helping at-risk and special needs kids, with 5,000 kids benefiting from their services annually.
