Open Hydrant Theater Company @ The Point's mission is to maintain an ensemble-based theater company in the densely populated, yet under-served, Hunt's Point community of the South Bronx. Their purpose is to produce yearly seasons of creative works based largely on, but not limited to, non-traditional, interactive interpretation of Shakespeare's plays, as well as other literary classics and work by new playwrights. Making theatre a family experience is a priority.

Luis Cardenas from Open Hydrant Theater Company joins us to talk about the challenges and triumphs of introducing theater in this very tough neighborhood (remember "Fort Apache-The Bronx" with Paul Newman?).

Visit them online and make a tax-deductible donation to the great work they do at www.openhydrant.org.
