Westchester On the Level

YONKERS, NY – Co-hosts Richard Narog and Hezi Aris will conduct a review and analysis of the week that was in Yonkers and Westchester County ,during Friday’s 10 – 11 am hour. Elder law attorney, Sanford Altman will discuss the issue before the New York State Legislature and Washington, D.C., known as “Estate Recovery.” This law which slid through in last year’s budget authorized individual States to get paid back for money they spent on Medicaid from people’s estates after their demise. In Albany, there is legislation that wants to eliminate spousal refusal for Medicaid applicants, which means if a spouse is ill and seeking help from Medicaid, they count the assets of both spouses to determine Medicaid eligibility. Mr Altman will advise us of the issue during the 11 am to 12 Noon hour.
