Ron Shemesh presented his economic development project to HRCA, a formidable neighborhood association in Yonkers on Wednesday, November 14th, at the Nepperhan Community Center where they hold meetings every month. Shemesh's project is centered on the rehabilitation and re-use of the Glenwood Power Station and the use and redesign of Trevor Park. People's sensibilities were uncomfortably pressed at the HRCA meeting, as well as at the Yonkers Planning Board meeting held at the Yonkers City Council Chambers on the same issue at the same time. The same approach of dismissing the public's concern and their interest had reared itself in the City of Gracious Living on issues of economic development once again. We'll speak to what happened in the opening hour of the show.

At 11 a.m., Dr. Naseer Alomari joins us to translate the latest news from The Middle East; the ever louder crescendo of war, and the prospect of the Syrian Civil War having engulfed the region, or has come very close to raising the prospect of blood to spill on the streets of Turkey, Jordan, Israel, Gaza, Egypt, Lebanon, and who knows where else. The Middle east is at the brink of exploding.
