The Wednesday, March 6, 2013 edition of Westchester On the Level is precipated by mention at the Yonkers City Council committee meeting that took place Tuesday night, March 5, 2013, at which Yonkers City Council President Chuck Lesnick proposed legislation that would supplement efforts by Yonkers Board of Education Bernard Pierorazio's efforts in Albany who is advancing a $40 million Public Private Partnership (P3) not fully discussed by the City Council membership, not fully understood by the council, devoid of the proposed legislation presented to Albany, over a concept not vetted by the public, and over which no public hearing has been held. The process being promoted in Albany as if it were representative of the public  interest or that it had gained the approval of the Yonkers City Council is an arrogant approach to which the Yonkers Board of Education (YBoE)has gained no such approval. Further the YBoE is engaged in encumbering the City of Yonkers with debt to which the public, through its representatives, have not agreed. It seems the YBoE believes they have the right to wag the City of Yonkers as if they are the tail and the city is their dog.
