Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas speaks from 10:30-11am to his FY2017 Proposed Budget. It is defined under the 2% tax cap, allowing for STAR benefit for seniors. We learn when the Mount Vernon City Council study the proposed budget and we speak to the non-specific mistakes, or errors, or other criticism that is not specified by the likes of Comptroller Maureen Walker? Is there a deadline by which the budget must be adopted in order to arrive at a timely moment to qualify for STAR benefits, among other attributes, and how the low tax rate increase sustain the City. Further, now that the courts have rules that there "is" a school funding formula, and that Mount Vernon, Yonkers, among others are appropriately compensated, how will that affect students via-a-vis a old school buildings infrastructure.
