Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas speaks to his FY2017 Proposed Budget at 10:30am. It is defined under the 2% tax cap, allowing for STAR benefit for seniors. We learn when the Mount Vernon City Council study the proposed budget and we speak to the non-specific mistakes, or errors, or other criticism that is not specified by the likes of Comptroller Maureen Walker? Is there a deadline by which the budget must be adopted in order to arrive at a timely moment to qualify for STAR benefits, among other attributes, and how the low tax rate increase sustain the City. Further, now that the courts have rules that there "is" a school funding formula, and that Mount Vernon, among others are appropriately compensated, how will that affect students via-a-vis an aging school buildings infrastructure. How does the lack of legitimate payment of reimbursement demands not being made by the Mount Vernon Comptroller negatively impact governance in Mount Vernon? Under what legal means does she conduct interference. Has she also curtailed funding for Memorial Field. There are revised brownfield cleanup requirements. Is this a new opportunity for unavailable funding?

Hezi Aris engages in national and international news review and analysis at 10am and again after Mayor Thomas concludes his time on the show.
