Westchester On the Level with Narog and Aris

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY -- Nadine Burns-Lyons, Executive Director of The Sharing Community is our guest this Wednesday, April 12, 2017th, from 10-10:30am. We speak to the many responsibilities undertaken and continuously evolving that challenge The Sharing Community to stay the course while serving the homeless community with as much compassion and success as they do. Last year they assisted 500 single, homeless individuals, found them shelter or housing with supportive services; inclusive of nutritious meals, medical care, mental health and/or substance abuse counseling, as well as case management services. They opened their doors in 1983. AS the need has grown, The Sharing Community struggles to keep up. We learn how the staff and volunteers maintain their tenacity and resolve to continue on despite the financial burdens that threaten their ability to function.
