Thomas Kline, 35-years Pfizer Pharmaceutical Vice President, completed The New York City Marathon, its 48th year on November 4, 2018. He devised a strategy for success and achieving one’s dreams using walking as a metaphor. He has race walked in the New York City Marathon for 30 years and has made thousands of strides to help create a better world. Shortly after joining Pfizer’s Brooklyn office he was inspired to use his position to change lives. Race walking training took him through the streets of Brooklyn and Queens. His experiences informed him to walk in order to raise money for many charities. We learn how his experiences as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in Cambodia and Vietnam building bridges taught him flood control skills that he used on the upper Mississippi; his form of paying back. Kline is currently working with a group of experts from the East African nation of Tanzania and the United States on a drone to help destroy malaria-carrying mosquitoes.
