It seems like in the last decade or so we have seen the era of great movie parodies plummet in their ability to actually make us laugh. It seems like filmmakers these days have the idea much too seriously, using mainstream comedy acts in every new one that comes out, and proving that funny people do not always equal funny films. When we had films like Hot Shots and Airplane, dramatic actors in the roles are what made parodies special. Taking thos serious actors and placing them into ludicrous situations are what made those movies hilarious. Plus today's movies, parodies or spoofs in particular, are filled with political corectness and push way too hard to avoid offending....everybody!! Movies like Airplane were filled with taboo subjects and shay jokes, and that was what made them so funny. Political correctness and underlying agendas have no place in real comedy... Join us this week as we revisit some of our favorite "old school" parody movies and explore how they have evolved!
