WRSP presents the second weekly episode of the Weekend Sports Huddle with co-hosts Tom Pollin and Dave Holcomb. It was a sad week in the sports world with the passing of both legendary sports coaches Buddy Ryan and Pat Summit. Perhaps more famous for being the father of current NFL coaches Rex and Rob Ryan, Buddy earned a reputation as a brash, defensive genius in the mid-1980's. From Chicago, Pollin will share this thoughts and memories of the late Buddy Ryan.
To the diamond, the Chicago Cubs are still well positioned in the NL Central, but the Cubs have lost 8 of their last 12 games since sweeping the Pittsburgh Pirates two weeks ago. The co-hosts will take a look into what is troubling Joe Maddon's Cubs and determine whether or not to be concerned.
Friday was July 1, so that can only mean one thing - NHL & NBA free agency. Unfortunately, both the Blackhawks and Penguins are up against the salary cap, so there isn't a whole lot of movement from either team. In fact, both teams lost a key player to last season's roster Friday, so Pollin and Holcomb take a look at their latest departures along with the rest of NHL free agency.
