WRSP presents the 14th weekly episode of Weekend Sports Huddle with co-hosts Tom Pollin and Dave Holcomb. The Chicago Cubs have clearly been baseball's best team in 2016, so it's only fitting that Chicago is the first team to clinch a playoff berth and division title. The Cubs did so Thursday with a Cardinals' loss, but Chicago also won on Friday afternoon to make it official. Our hosts dive into what this early clinching means for the Cubs and the other playoff races around baseball.
Then, it's to Week 2 of the NFL season, which is hightlighted by a playoff rematchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati linebacker Vontaze Burfict will not play, but that won't the tension between these two teams any less Sunday. The show also has its second weekly Nostrathomas Predicts.
Finally, we end the show with some college football. The top three teams in the country will all be on the road in Week 3, and at Penn State, the football alumni are planning a highly disrespect ceremonry Saturday afternoon before taking on Temple.
