This Saturday, August 15, Critical Discourse is proud to invite to our Roundtable, Dr. Melanie Cooper, of Atlanta, Ga., and founder and CEO of Triumph Over Diabetes.

That the black community is gravely suffering from the plight of diabetes is an understatement. 

We are in Crisis.

We are at War.

The devastation that it brings (blindness, amputation, heart and kidney problems, impotence) is well documented and understood.

That we must act on this now, is something to which we at Critical Discourse are so duly dedicated, and it is in this spirit, that this writer is confident, all who listen to Dr. Cooper live and afterwards, will leave with vision, commitment and TRIUMPH.

Also, keep in mind that August 17, 1887, is the 128th birthday of the great Marcus Mosiah Garvey, so, as we will have Dr. Cooper scheduled for 7 AM, we will dedicate the first hour (6 - 7 AM) to Garvey.
