ASA,
Over the past few years, we have witnessed tragic events regarding black women.
In 2013, Miriam Carey drove dangerously close to both the White House and Capitol Building, with her 1-year old child inside, before she was gunned down by police.
In July, Sandra Bland, driving in Texas, was stopped for a traffic infraction. She ended upbeing arrested, and was later found dead in her cell. A suicide, according to official reports.
In Las Vegas this week, Lakeisha Holloway drove her car into a crowd of people, killing 1, injuring 37. Herr 3-year child was with her.
While we can look at these as isolated incidents, one cannot help seeing them from a larger context of the mindset of black women in America, compounded by mental illness.
Either way, the social implications are glaring and demand urgent and immediate attention.
I would be remiss not to acknowledge the courage, decency and faith, displayed by a group of Muslims in Kenya, who stood up to a band of terrorists who wanted to kill the Christians with whom they rode, on a bus.
Because of this, only 2 were killed. Allah Bless their souls - whatever their faith - AMEEN!
(They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right,- (for no cause) except that they say, "our Lord is Allah". Did not Allah check one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been pulled down monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of Allah is commemorated in abundant measure. Allah will certainly aid those who aid his (cause);- for verily Allah is full of Strength, Exalted in Might, (able to enforce His Will).
