ASA,
Hillary Clinton, "… white Americans need to do a much better job of listening when African Americans talk about the seen and unseen barriers we face every day. We need to recognize our privilege and practice humility rather than assume our experiences are everyone else's. We need to try as best as we can to walk in your shoes …"
Given the “progress” made over the past few years, what “listening” needs to be done?
What whites? What blacks?
What is to come from these “listening sessions”?
Certainly, race was and is, a stickler point in inter-human relations in the USA. Perhaps, it’s may never be fully resolved.
After all, look at the income-disparity between white and black; more profound that with male and female, yet there is deafening silence from the proponents of “income equality”.
Gentrification, anyone?
Do you doubt that Bill Clinton moving his office to Harlem, has had a deleterious effect on the black community; a created “housing apartheid”?
Listening Hillary?
Black Americans as a rule, have held deeply, religious social views on marriage, family and life in general, yet, her boss (did she really believe this?) engaged in direct attacks on these legacies, with she, in tow.
Anyhow, though covered already, I must take on Obama’s insistence on “income equality”, once again, showing its complete fallaciousness.
Also, a bit more on the Ebony Magazine, March 2016 Body Brigade edition.
