As-Salaam-Alaikum and Blessed Ramadan!

Well, "The Greatest" has been put to rest, and now, we are able to evaluate the man, the mind, the soul known as Muhammad Ali.

Ali, unquestionably, transcended the world of "sport and play", becoming a foremost advocate of the rights and dignity of black people and a sober voice in the cause of Al-Islam.

While Parkinson's Syndrome robbed him of his extraordinary gifts of oratory, the few words he did speak, the world listened.

Once reviled, for his embrace of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Naton of Islam, and his stance regarding the Vietnam Conflict, he became the beloved of millions and the most popular man in the world - before his illness and passing.

Yet, I get this sense of revisionism, especially in these times of political and social strife and confusion.

Hillary Clinton has for all intents and purposes, clinched the nomination as the Democratic Party's choice for president, with Barack Obama, officially endorsing her.

My question. As far as the black community is concerned, is this to be a passing of the torch, from one cult to another?

Will black people finally begin the arduous task of critical thinking, matching her positions and views against purported scriptural and cultural traditions?

Join us this Saturday, to discuss.
