C.D. -The Black Community, the Police, Politics & the Black LIES Matter Movement

As-Salaam-Alaikum,

It’s been a summer of intensity and rancor, as seemingly each week, government and the populace clash, based on perceptions of the victim vs. the oppressor – we need not define who each represents.

In the wake of the killings of 5 Dallas police officers at the end of a peaceful Black Lives Matter (“lies” in the title is not a typo), we once again have to piece together the history and factors which lead to such extreme action.

We are familiar with the disturbing images of two black men being killed by police, in Louisiana and Minnesota, of the course, the underlying view, two white men would never had met such fate. Perhaps this is true, but what we have right now, is a bit of finger-pointing and statistical back-and-forths in determining which race gets the rawer end of the law enforcement “deal”.

We have Rudy Giuliani implying that black parents do not teach our children to respect police, and on the other hand, Barack Obama at the memorial for the slain officers, doing the best he could to sanitize the group known as “Black Lives Matter” AKA “Black Lies Matter”. Why wouldn’t he rebuke his ideologues?

Either way, the issues are pointed and serious, and the black community for certain, must once and for all, move beyond a slogan of “Black Lives Matter” to really appreciating and embodying this as a real principle which goes beyond reactionary politics, only when blacks are killed by non-blacks or police.

Get ready, as it will prove to be earth-shaking, but necessary.
