As-Salaam-Alaikum,
So, now, finally, after years of being told other-than-the-truth by media, we finally get it, though not in the most upright manner, or with the noblest of intentions. And the new “color of the day” is “fake news”.
Now that the Hill-Jill recount effort is poised to miserably fail, we have the first ½ of the team, decrying the seriousness of “fake news” (Hmmm; in the line of fire, in Bosnia, the “birther” photo of Obama in Kenya, Benghazi).
In a million years, I couldn’t make this up. We have a Brian Williams, fired for outright lying, blaming Mrs. Clinton’s loss to Mr. Trump, on “fake news”.
But, from a larger perspective, many of my colleagues, for years, have vehemently argued against “mainstream” reporting, on the part of both “sides”, particularly, when it comes to Islamic, African or in general, those who are not “mainstream” or “acceptable”. Yes, we’ve accused the press of being so agenda-driven, that they would distort the truth, in order to elicit certain responses and support, from the general population.
Mrs. Clinton absolutely believed the presidency was her Divine Right, an idea furthered by the bulk of the press, as they worked feverishly to assure a “coronation”, by smearing, and distorting and lying. Yet, to her their utter shock, the people sent a strong rebuke, from which they have yet to recover.
But, this really serves notice to any of us, especially the New Day for Al-Islam team, to uphold the highest [Islamic] standards of truth, fairness and temperance.
In the meantime, Trump continues his cabinet picks …
I'm looking forward to seeing a POTUS show us how to run a business, while he's in the White House.
