“The only thing I like integrated is my coffee” – Malcolm X
As-Salaam-Alaikum (God’s Peace upon You),
With so many important things going on, I almost forgot about the Starbucks situation in Philly.
So, two black men, because they didn't make a purchase at Starbucks, are asked to leave, as the space is reserved for paying patrons.
You know the rest of the story. They refused to leave, the manager called the cops, who asked them to leave. Still refusing, they were cuffed and arrested.
It goess viral, and the CEO of Starbucks, declines to press charges and apologizes to the men. He decides to close all Starbucks locations on May 29th, requiring all employees to attend racial-sensitivity classes, among the presenters, former Attorney General, Eric Holder, where they'll be deluged with accusatory rants about "implicit bias” and "microaggresion".
In the meantime, we see that there are some cities in California, who are defying Governor Brown’s imposition of its Sanctuary City status. President Trump referred to this as “a revolution”.
Did you actually hear what New Jersey Senator, Corey Booker, asked Secretary of State nominee, Mike Pompeo? Now, on Pompeo, my brief research on him, fortifies my position, that we must intellectually defeat all, who would speak disparagingly of Al-Islam, by speaking truth, even when it’s not necessarily demonstrated by those, who call themselves Muslims.
New York State and Florida want to allow convicted felons, voting privileges. Good idea? I have mixed feelings. On one hand, “do the crime, do the time”, while on the other, IF you’ve paid your debt to society, wouldn’t that presume, you’ve been restored full privileges (notice, I do not refer to voting as a RIGHT)?
