When will Isaiah 9:6-7 be fulfilled with messiah king sitting on David's throne.
*Fulfillment: Luke 1:31-33;; Romans 1:1-4;; John 1:1-4;; Colossians 2:9. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.
*** What is Isaiah 9 talking about? *Isaiah is looking to the future when Christ would begin his ministry in Galilee. He appears to sinful men. Jesus is the light of the world but men love the darkness, so they put the author of life to death. There is no clearer revelation of the darkness of sin in men.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)
