Nancy Lorraine author of The Butterfly Adventure, Garden Friends
Two young butterflies leave the comfort of their shady forest for the first time in Nancy Lorraine's The Butterfly Adventure. Exploring a brilliant wildflower garden in full bloom, the butterfly friends encounter exotic new insects and flowers - but most of all - the butterflies discover the value of friendship. Beautifully illustrated with original watercolors, each chapter of The Butterfly Adventure makes lovely bedtime reading for both parent and child.
Nancy Lorraine (Edelman) has a Ph.D. in Social Work. She worked for more than 30 years counseling families and children in crisis. Her mental health knowledge informs her stories. Lorraine, a master gardener, has an extensive backyard flower garden frequented by butterflies, dragonflies, and eight grandchildren. Her garden serves as a place of meditation and inspiration. The butterfly stories are works of joy.
"The Butterfly Adventure" is Nancy Lorraine's first published book. However, she just won an award in the Porter Fleming Literary Competition for a non-fiction essay. She and Dot Herron, the illustrator, are working on a sequel to "The Butterfly Adventure."
