Despite the widespread availability of anti-retroviral therapy (ART) in the U.S., more than half of people living with HIV (PLHIV) in the U.S. are not engaged in regular medical care. This show will discuss ways in which unaddressed trauma in the lives of PLHIV negatively impacts access to and engagement in care, further complicating health outcomes as a consequence. We will discuss intervention, and posits recommendations for further action. Our aims will be to offer high-impact structural intervention to facilitate healing from trauma, improve individual health outcomes, and provide tools for PLHIV to achieve their health goals.
