It was Albert Einstein who said, “Man must cease attributing his problems to his environment, and learn again to exercise his will – his personal responsibility.” And that is exactly what Michael Strand, a TBI Thriver, did after enduring a brain injury sustained from being hit by a truck twenty-five years ago. Michael proclaims that “your changing sense of self after a brain injury is an opportunity to design yourself all over again.” Instead of “recovery”, Michael explains that he prefers using the term, “Post-TBI” to describe moving forward with “what you’ve got and start working toward it.” He discovered that writing helps with his focus and along his journey as a TBI Thriver, he became an author of several books about brain injury and one of his writings titled “How I Learned to Walk” is featured in the soon-to-be-released “Chicken Soup for the Soul: Recovering From Traumatic Brain Injuries.” Kevin is honored to have Michael as a guest speaker who will share his insights about “Post-TBI” and how he took ownership of his “recovery” to create the FUNctional “Post-TBI” LIFE he now enjoys. Join Kevin on tonight on “WTF: Where’s The Focus” Brain Injury Radio at 7:00 pm PST and enjoy learning from another TBI Thriver as he shares his story.
