Have you ever been hospitalized or put into a rehabilitation facility and once you’re there it felt more like you wished you would have stayed home and suffered in silence? Well I sure have and so many others I know have so tonight we will be talking about ways to advocate for positive changes that we can make happen while in the hands of others who wish to provide us medical services but may not understand or even care to understand your own situation.

I as well as many of my Friends have had many Hospital Nightmare stories but Tonight’s show is not to trash hospitals and their employees because there are many wonderful hard working people who are trapped working in a broken and sometimes very confusing medical system that often treats disability survivors as if they 35th class citizens instead of people needing medical services to improve or even help save a life!

Topics will include:

  1. Becoming a Strong Self Advocate
  2. Making sure your voice is heard
  3. When yes is yes and no is no
  4. Understanding versus misunderstanding
  5. Medical Workers are over Worked
  6. When you have a bad health care worker
  7. Knowing your patient rights
  8. Research the Facilities History
  9. Your Choice, Your Life, Your Health
  10. It’s not Rocket Science
