Fantastic Frank Johnson and a Special Guest named Marsha (Stage Name) will talk about how eating right & exercising are essential to maintain your body for the long haul.

On Thursday, March 3rd, 2016, at 8-9:45 PM EST Fantastic Frank Johnson will interview members of Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous (FA) who have lost weight and changed their lives by using the disciplines of this program.

FA is a program of recovery based on the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. Membership is international, with meetings held in the United States, Australia, Canada, Germany, and England. According to the 2009 census, total FA membership is just over 4,000.

FA members are men and women of all ages. Some have been obese; others have been severely underweight, bulimic, or so obsessed with food or weight that normal life was difficult or impossible. The common denominator uniting members of FA is addiction and a relationship with food that parallels an alcoholic’s relationship with alcohol. The program offers the hope of long-term recovery, evidenced by many members who have continuously maintained a normal weight and healthy eating for periods of twenty-five or even thirty years.

Food addiction affects many disabled people, too, including TBIs who are overweight and lack energy -- like me, for example.  My anonymous friends will share what their lives were like before joining FA, what happened to them in FA, and what their lives are like now.  You’ll hear about their release from food cravings, obsession, and self-abuse. You’ll understand the support FA members receive, gaining strength from one another.  You’ll hear the conviction they have that there is a way to overcome any challenge.  This is a show you won’t want to miss!
