Stroke Survivor, Susan Emily Guillebeau - Dream Catchers LesPaul

Susan Emily Guillebeau is a stroke survivor that I met at our Augusta GA Brain Injury Support group meeting recently. It’s a sad and crushing story but filled with hope and encouragement too... Susan had a massive stroke in the early morning on December 27, 2015. Due to swelling of the brain she had to have emergency surgery and had part of her skull removed. The family has been at the hospital 24/7. Hospital eating and expenses can get very costly. They have 3 kids and family that want to remain at the hospital to continue to be by Susan’s side.

She and was only 32 years old at the time. In her words she said it felt like someone hit me in the head with a hammer. As a result she also has two blood clotting disorders. Her life was changed in an instant!!!

Susan was transferred to Sheppard Rehab in Atlanta. Beginning to walk, moving the "dead" arm (as Susan calls it). Right now the discharge date from Sheppard for Susan to come home is Feb 10, 2016.
Without the generosity of family and friends making donations, David would not have been able to stay out of work to be there for support, courage and a motivator for Susan.

Susan is on a mission to educate and advocate for stroke injury awareness and prevention and is on a personal journey of recovery and wants people to be much more aware of the signs and symptoms of stroke so be ready to be inspired!!!
