Deb & Dale Hayes were married in 1998. Deb was fine until 2007 when she suffered a double brain aneurysm. She beat the odds surviving the aneurysms & surgery, which left her in a coma. She regained consciousness, but was not able to move anything except her left arm and was not able to speak. Deb was denied access to the local rehab center known to deal most aggressively with these cases. They were able to find her a bed in a state facility, where she has been since. Treatment has been minimal in helping her recover more fully. Deb has been on a feeding tube, and unable to communicate to any appreciable degree. Three years ago a speech therapist took interest in her, saw to it she had some appropriate testing, and began working with her using an old model Dynovox left by a former patient. Results proved miraculous and long overdue, then the machine broke…Which we were able to help with replacing. Dale is one of the Indie Musicians on the show, and works as he can to bring extra money in. See: Garfan.com and their page on facebook.
This show is a gathering place for anyone seeking recovery from the challenges of life on life's terms. We discuss useful tools that have helped us lighten the load, of our journey through recovery. This is a "we" recovery program, because it is in the "we," that we find the new "me."
We focus on the four A's of Recovery: Awareness, Acceptance, Action and Adaptation. This is a place for survivor's striving to become thrivers.
