MARCH AWARENESS
SURVIVING HEAD TRAUMA with TERRY SMITH
Traumatic Brain Injury is not always traumatic in the traditional sense. Autism is a brain issue that is not so understood – as are other brain traumas not typically seen as TBI or BI.
This episode is about what Autism means and the daily experiences of an autistic person. We’ll examine the relationship between Brain Trauma and Autism.
March is Brain Injury Awareness Month. Our special guest this month is Danielle Brown. Presently, Ms. Brown works as a Behavioral Services Manager at Progressions (a division of Attendant Care Companies). She works primarily with Individuals diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury. Danielle took her time creating a behavioral department that not only she could depend on but her residents as well. She loves working with her clients and ensures that each individual receives person centered behavior intervention plans. Danielle believes in letting her clients have a say in their behavioral programming. She feels it makes goals easier to achieve for clients that have challenges with initiation. Danielle makes it her mission to ensure that individuals diagnosed with autism or a traumatic brain injury, have a voice.
We may have Wendy Curtis join us on this episode to discuss an array of TBI related issues. She is a caregiver at her end.
