Robert J. Ulrich serves as a mentor on Oxygen’s newest competition show “The Glee Project.” Ulrich, the casting director for both “The Glee Project” and “Glee,” is from the wonderful town of Modesto, in northern California (home of Gallo wine and George Lucas). After graduating from the University of Pacific in Stockton, he earned his masters Degree in English from the University of Stanislaus and moved to New York City to pursue a vocation in acting. He eventually returned to California to begin a career in casting. While working at the prominent casting office of Reuben Cannon & Associates, Robert met his future partners Eric Dawson and Carol Kritzer. In 1989 Robert and Eric formed their own company, Ulrich/Dawson & Associates; two years later Carol Kritzer came on board and they became Ulrich/Dawson/Kritzer Casting.

Reality competition will never be the same as Oxygen introduces the 12 contenders of “The Glee Project,” premiering on Sunday, June 12 at 9pm ET/PT.  From Ryan Murphy, the creator and Emmy® award winning executive producer of “Glee,” and executive producer of “Glee” Dante Di Loreto, comes a groundbreaking 10-episode competition series, “The Glee Project” which finds and trains a group of 12 extraordinarily talented performers who compete against one another to win a seven episode guest starring role on “Glee.”  From thousands of entries, and an exhaustive nationwide and online talent search, the series uncovers a unique group of artists from both professional and amateur backgrounds proving every underdog has a fighting chance at stardom.
