Ashburn, VA – Leadership works best when we are our most authentic selves and aligned with our values. Kenny Leahman’s story is one of embracing who we truly are.

As a CIA operative for 24 years, Kenny Leahman lived deep undercover developing relationships with potential intelligence assets.

But Leahman actually lived under two covers: he was also a gay Mormon man in the closet to everyone, including his wife and three children.

Duty-driven and service-oriented, Leahman had an important mission and a great family life to go with it, but it was not aligned with who he really was at his core.

At the age of 47, Leahman decided he could no longer continue living a lie and revealed the truth of who he was to his family and employer.

Today, Leahman brings that same sense of personal integrity to his work as an executive coach, consultant and educator.

“What I have done in my life is to center myself around values-based living and values-based leadership,” says Leahman. “My story resonates because we are constantly reinventing ourselves. Leaders need to adjust, adapt and align themselves and their organizations with their values.  As a coach, I help people and teams Discover, Decide and Do What Matters.”

Many individuals struggle with allowing others to understand who they really are. Very few people know the pain of that more than Kenny.

“When I discovered coaching, I rediscovered my connection to a mission,” says Leahman. “My mission now is to embolden people to drop cover and live their full personal and professional selves.”
