Waterford, MI - While news of a pregnancy can be an incredibly joyous occasion, sometimes things go wrong. Research shows that approximately 30% percent of all pregnancies end in miscarriage or stillbirth, and these numbers do not include the families faced with difficult decisions such as termination for medical reasons (TFMR). “I support birthing people by explaining all the options, which are incredibly overwhelming, as no one prepares for this to happen. I am present with families for delivery of a stillborn, or if their baby is expected to pass during or shortly after delivery. As a certified grief educator, I also offer pregnancy loss support coaching, perinatal bereavement education, and consulting for medical professionals, medical offices, and other doulas,” explains Ashley Inclima of Tides of Life Doula & Perinatal Bereavement Services LLC.
Through Tides of Life Doula & Perinatal Bereavement Services LLC, Ashley offers different levels of support to those facing similar decisions and pregnancy loss, as well as services for other medical professionals, businesses, and doulas to increase their knowledge of how to provide compassionate support. “In addition to the direct services I offer families, educating others who work with perinatal loss families is one of my main goals. It’s an honor to personally help these families.”
Ashley recently shared her entire pregnancy journey at the MAMA Maternal Mental Health Storytelling Symposium held at the GEM Theater in Detroit, which you can find on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nPpEupbh5g
