Charlotte View interview with photographer Deborah Triplett (Deborah Triplett Studio and Photography) founder of the citywide project "Yard Art Day" in Charlotte, NC on Sept 3. This exhibition welcomes everyone to celebrate their creative spirit by displaying or performing their works of art for 24 hours in their front yards or balconies for the public. “Yard Art Day is a grass roots exhibition, created by the community for the community” to show the city's creative side during the DNC
You can register until August 25th to be included on the online map (displaying artists information and work) and get a Yard Art Day sign for easier recognition.
The exhibition is being organized by the Yard Art Day team -Deborah Triplett, Sharon Dowell, Candice Langston, Colleen Taylor, Greggory Bradford, Susan Walker, Katie Culclasure, Mike Watson and Teri Garner and the generous donations of individuals and local organizations (Common Market, ASC, Charlotte View, etc). Yard Art can be anything—any artistic expression: read poetry in your yard, display a painting, wrap a tree in fabric, plant balloons like a field of flowers, build a totem, play an instrument … the possibilities are as endless as your imagination.
