Cultural equity and awareness has always been important. Join us on Off The Shelf Books Talk Radio THIS Saturday, April 10 at 11am/EST to discuss ways that literacy can help strengthen cultural awareness. Erica Denise is our featured guest. She will sit down with Off The Shelf Books Talk Radio host, Denise Turney, to talk about why cultural awareness is important. Erica and Denise will also dig into whether or not schools present healthy cultural images for children from diverse backgrounds.

As the founder of Culture Books, Erica knows firsthand the impact that literacy and reading has on cultural awareness and the mind of a young reader. In addition to cultural awareness, these two entrepreneurs will talk about a range of topics, such as how bookstore owners and bookstore managers can connect and empower communities

Erica Denise is a former teacher, literacy advocate, lover of books and founder of Culture Books, a bookstore located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Listener dial-in number:  (347) 994-3490.
