Here is her bio. My Name is Nyah Amara and I the Editor of the Voices of Africa. I am a licensed professional counselor with over 15 years providing direct care to youth and families in both the area of mental heath and substance abuse. My expertise is in mental, health, substance use disorders, trauma, adolescents, and health and wellness. I use a range of modalities such as individual group, and family therapy. I'm a certified Certified Reciprocal Addiction & Drug Counselor (CRADC) and a Co-occurring Disorders Professional Diplomat (CCDP-D). As a Licensed Professional, my overall goal is to increase awareness into maladaptive patterns that impact individuals as well as family, and community systems. I use a range of techniques based on evidence-based practices, science, ?and technology, and applied research methods and development. The purpose of the blog to educate, inform, and the persuade the reader towards adopting a more sound approach to our history with the overall goal of redefining what it means to be conscious in the African American Community.
